Hello, all.

It seems it's been more than a little while since I last put anything up in this journal and I thought that I might want to rectify this oversight.

I'm doing well enough. School is starting to get to me, but that's on the sleepiness front. And on the 'who the heck decided 8:00 was a time in the morning' front. I'll admit it, I'm not a morning person. I function best at night. Oh, and let's skip the whole 'if you're in a writing program, how come we don't see any writing from you?' thing. I'll get writing up. Eventually.

Today I'm going to talk about a movie I saw. I rarely ever give reviews on this sort of thing since I'll watch most movies. This movie gets the exception because it was based on one of my all time favorite books. 'Howl's Moving Castle' is based on the young adult book with the same name by Diana Wynne Jones. I adore this book since it's one of those fun and magical reads that captures my attention every time. I was really hoping for something that followed the plot closely. Silly me. I mean, who the heck changes the evil Witch of the Waste into a more sympathetic character and completely changes the wizard Sulliman from one of the Witch's victims into the bad guy. And makes him female to boot. Not to mention that the movie seems to be a commentary on war rather than a young woman's self-discovery. I'm not saying it was a bad movie. It was a beautiful example of Japanese animation. It just wasn't what I was expecting.
